Backstage
Presence was founded in 2004 by Tracy Frink, who
has been working in technical theater since the
early 1990's. The company was started as a way for
Tracy to use the network of contacts that she had
built over the years to help spread the word of
upcoming jobs on productions and events to fellow
theater techs in the Houston area.
The popularity of this service grew very quickly
and the company started to transform into a full
service staffing company. The depth of the list
of technical theater resources signed up with Backstage
Presence to receive calls on upcoming jobs grew,
and was only exceeded by the number of organization
calling for workers.
By 2006, Backstage Presence enjoyed a strong list
of clients calling from two industries. Theatrical
organizations still called for resources, but companies
within the special events industry had also taken
notice of Backstage Presence and its work. Backstage
Presence had diversified its offerings to match
the needs of two markets.
Also in 2006, when it became clear that Backstage
Presence was going to continue to grow and prosper,
the need to expand and build out a company infrastructure
became a top priority. The company began looking
for ways to partner with others in the industry
and to build out an internal infrastructure.
For that purpose, Tracy reached an agreement with
Natasha Serrano to turn over management of the company
in 2007. The company immediately incorporated to
become Backstage Presence, Inc., and the work to
build out an infrastructure and foundation upon
which the company could continue to grow began.
Tracy is still involved as consultant and advisor
to the company and is actively involved in helping
to shape the decisions that are made in the growth
process.
As always, the show must go on. While we continue
to steadily build this foundation, Backstage Presence,
Inc. has continued work with its clients on many
types of jobs within the Houston area. We have also
been fortunate enough to form new relationships
with additional customers as well. Through these
customer relationships, we are proud to say that
we have worked on a very diverse set of productions
and events in the recent past, including lighting
and sound for the Pointer Sisters performance in
Houston in Fall 2007, lighting and setup for the
recent National Association for Catering Executives
(NACE) Convention during the summer of 2007, and
Backstage Crew for the Moscow Ballet performances
in Houston during the Christmas 2007 season.
Backstage Presence, Inc.'s top priorities will always
be to provide the highest quality labor for the
best possible price to our customers, and to motivate
our Crew members to continue to work with us because
of high satisfaction with the work experience we
provide.
